Youth environmental leaders programme

We are looking for 10 – 12 youth environmental leaders to join us on a FREE one-week intensive course, aimed at giving great young people the skills and experience needed to improve their local environment.

This programme runs over the school holidays between Monday 09 October – Friday 13 October.

We will take students through food economies (including growing and harvesting food); restoration work including our nursery work and some pest control; waste including a visit and time with Sustainable Coastlines and a few other surprises (details tbc.)

Kaipatiki Project will provide the supervision, food, transport and teaching. We only ask students to arrange to get themselves to and from the centre every day.

After the programme, we are asking leaders to help plan and run a community event aimed at improving their environment. We will work with you during the programme and afterwards to run an event before Christmas.

This programme has been funded by the Kaipatiki Local Board and is only open to students from Birkenhead College, Hato Petera College, Glenfield College and Northcote College.

Places are strictly limited. To apply, please fill out this short form.

Only available to students from selected schools
