Flax weaving tutor Judy Te Hiwi and Takutai will inspire your class in this fun, friendly hands-on class to learn about harakeke and how to weave with it.

Judy will guide your students through:

– Protocols around harakeke
– Conservation care of the plants
– Weaving a flower from harakeke

Judy will also give your students a glimpse of the possibilities of weaving by sharing examples of more complex woven articles including a rain cape and flax paper.

This course is suitable for primary school ages and above. We can tailor the course to suit your programme. It usually requires 2 hours and a maximum of 30 students in each course.
