Our courses are practical, innovative and inspirational. We offer a diverse range of topics to help people with their environmental challenges. Some are free, some are not. Bookings are essential to secure your spot.

Learn how to make fresh, allergy-free and non-toxic, pure soap products. This is a hands-on course that will leave you feeling very nurtured and satisfied that you will be able to produce excellent, healthy products for your family’s health. Not to be missed!

Hands on Ecology
Hands on ecology course consists of three-hour classes once a week for nine weeks. Classes take place mainly in the forest as students are introduced to different aspects of New Zealand’s unique ecology.
Plant propagation

Learn how to grow plants from seed, root division and cuttings. Best timing for these practices will be covered, plant species suited to the season, and how to care for your transplants once in the garden.

Home composting courses about worm farming, bokashi buckets & composting. These courses are brought to you by the Compost Collective – a collaboration between Kaipātiki Project Environment Centre and EcoMatters Environment Trust – with funding by the Auckland Council.

Hand Milled Soap
The safest and most fun way to make soap. Made with Castille soap and local plants, Julie will show you how to create beautiful soap gifts that are satisfyingly rustic and decadent. Learn the process of adding organic essential oils and colours. Everyone goes home with a soap.

Don’t put your peelings in the compost when Julie can show you how to turn them into absolutely delicious meals. Tried and true recipes to delight your taste buds, feed the family and are good for you. Registrations close on 6 March.

Bookings are essential with payment prior to the course commencing. Course registration closes 24 hours before the course starts, or once the course is full. Please book early to avoid disappointment. We cannot accept walk-ins on the day for our courses. 

Refund Policy: If you cancel a course booking five (5) days before the start of the course, we will give you a full refund. If you cancel a course booking between five (5) days and one (1) day before the start of a course, we will give you a 50% refund. If you cancel your booking on the day of the course, you are not entitled to a refund. Contact office@kaipatiki.org.nz to cancel a course.

Cancellations: Kaipātiki Project reserves the right to cancel any course at any time. We will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible before we cancel a course. If we cancel a course, you will receive a full refund.
